Committed to Community Service
Denni Locke, Pastor Fred Small, a small group of volunteers and I started Bridge The Gap College Prep in 1995 with a handful of students and tutors at the Marin City Church of God.
Now, with the help of generous funding from the Marin Community Foundation, the Milagro Foundation, Fireman’s Fund, and various other Bay Area foundations and organizations, the program has expanded to serve over 60 students from the Marin City Community with one-on-one tutoring two nights per week all through the school year. We have over 70 volunteers and are now in our 15th school year.
In January 2010 we are launching our afterschool program for the children of Marin City, in addition to our evening program. Our goal is to prepare every child in Marin City to graduate high school and to complete college.
